Prerequisites

Before you begin setting up the Oden teleoperation stack, ensure your hardware meets the following requirements. The performance of the system—especially video latency—depends heavily on your computer’s ability to handle high-speed video processing.

Minimum Hardware Requirements

These specifications apply to both the Oden Streamer (on the vehicle) and OdenVR (at the operator station).

  • CPU: A modern processor with at least 4 cores.

  • RAM: 8 GB or more.

  • GPU: A dedicated graphics card with built-in hardware encoding and decoding (like NVIDIA NVENC/NVDEC). This is critical for low-latency video.
