Optimal Latency Settings

For the lowest possible latency some specific settings are required.

Monitor in Maximum Refresh Rate

Make sure you monitor is running at its full capability and maximum refresh rate.

Nvidia Surround

If using multiple monitors, turn on and configure NVIDIA Surround.

Fullscreen

Fullscreen must be enabled for lowest possible latency. Any other window mode will add extra latency from the operating system compositor. Go to Application Settings  Window Mode to enable Fullscreen.

VSync

VSync should be disabled since the only effect VSync will have is potentially worsening your frame rate and causing input lag unless used correctly. This is done by unchecking Application Settings  VSync.

Sync to Video

The frame rate of the Streamer should be synced to the main camera camera frame rate.

Headless mode

To get the absolute minimum latency the Streamer can be run in headless mode, meaning that the graphical user interface is disabled and Streamer is run as a CLI application.

This is only possible on Linux compute platforms

Launch the application with the --headless flag to enable this mode.
